THE INCREDIBLE SARAH was released to theaters by Seymour Borde and Associates, a company who priopr and after had released sexy romps and martial arts and scifi films such as SUMMER CAMP, LUNCH WAGON, MASTER OF THE FLYING GOULLITINE and VASECTOMY! This was supposed to be the companies segue into respectability as American International and New World had done successfully prior. It didnt work, THE INCREDIBLE SARAH was savaged by critics and was a boxoffice failure.

New World Video who had no longer been associated with founder Roger Corman in the mid 80s, lost all the prestige films from the previous NW regime to Warner Home Video such as CRIES AND WHISPERS , AMARCORD and Jackson starrer THE ROMANTIC ENGLISHWOMAN. For their homevideo line they started buying art films such as this . So SARAH, a notorious flop, had at least tried to bring two companies some respectability of which they were not noted for previously.

Trivia: Which of Glenda Jacksons 4 Oscar nominations were attached to a film nominated for Best Picture as well?

Which of this acclaimed actresses films was turned into a U.S. television series? Who replaced her role in the series?
