Clio Goldsmith was being primed in the U.S. to be the next Laura Antonelli. Unfortunately her 1983 film , THE GIFT, released here by Samuel Goldwyn Films, was a flop in theaters, as was HEAT OF DESIRE from Columbia
Pictures Triumph Films (basically Sony Classics of its time).

The VHS market was starving for product and were looking elsewhere for direct to home video films they could exploit. HONEY fit the bill for its kinky sexuality and beautiful and young leading lady. It didn't hurt that Vestron showed her nude on the back of the box.
