This went in and out of theaters quickly in 1969(in Manhattan it was double featured with th B western, THE DESPARADOES),and was a huge flop.

It quickly showed up on television within a year and gained a cult following. In November 2012 a restored print was shown in LA with Van Dyke and director Carl Reiner doing a q & a afterward.
