It was produced by Harry Alan Towers for Hallam Productions. Like the first film, it was directed by Don Sharp, and starred Christopher Lee as Fu Manchu. As part of his plan for world domination, the evil Fu Manchu has taken as hostages the daughters of 12 political or industrial figures. Scotland Yard's Nayland Smith and Dr. Petrie are unable to prevent the kidnaping of Marie Lentz, a famed scientist's daughter who is brought to Fu Manchu's North African headquarters in the Sahara, only to learn that Fu Manchu possesses a lethal death ray. In time, Smith, Dr. Petrie, and Marie's fiancé, Franz Baumer, make their way to Fu Manchu's temple, but the death ray apparatus has already been set on a destructive course. Fu Manchu's "brides" barricade the doors against him and assist Smith and Dr. Petrie in resetting the death ray's tracking device, and the temple explodes after they have escaped. As he watches, Nayland Smith believes he hears the words, "the world will hear from me again," coming to him across the desert.
